今日咱们讲演的标题是：职责与担任。
Today we are going to talk about responsibility with you.
从一生下来，每个人身上都有着一份职责。跟着逐渐长大，这份职责也就变成了一种担任。一个有职责心的人一定会努力学习，认真工作，遇到困难不会半途抛弃。
Ever since our birth, everyone has responsibilities. As we grow older, this sense becomes stronger and stronger. A responsible person will study hard, work hard, and will never give up when encountering difficulties.
每个人心中都应有一份职责，言行中都折射着一份担任。学生有学习常识的职责和担任，教师有传道授业解惑的职责和担任，作家有笞恶扬善的职责和担任，医师有治病救人的职责和担任。武士有卫国护民的职责和担任。
Everyone should have a sense of responsibility in his heart, and his words along with actions reflect his responsibility. Students have the responsibility to learn knowledge. Teachers have the responsibility to teach and help students out of confusions or problems. Authors have the responsibility to lash evils and carry forward goodness in their works. Doctors have the responsibility to treat patients and save them from illness and death. Soldiers have the responsibility of protecting the people and the country.
孟子曾道：“正人有终身之忧。”便是由于他们挑选了担任，担任起本能够放下不论的工作。由于担任，杜甫宣布“安得广厦千万间，大庇全国寒士俱欢颜”的慨叹；由于担任，范仲淹写出“先全国之忧而忧，后全国之乐而乐”的名句。
Mencius once said, "A noble man has a lifelong concern." which means a man of noble character would choose to take on the role that they could have put aside. Because of his responsibility, Du Fu, a famous poet of Tang dynasty sent out the feeling of "all the people in the world, all of them should be sheltered in spacious and bright houses and live their happy life". Also, because of the responsibility, Fan Zhongyan wrote the famous sentence of "I worry people’s worry, but their joy is what I expect."
记住美国前总统林肯说的一句话：“每一个人都应该有这样的决心：人所能负的职责，我必能负；人所不能负的职责，我亦能负。如此，你才干磨炼自己，求得更高的常识而进入更高的境地。”让咱们将职责时间铭记于心，无需慷慨激昂，无需惊天豪举，只需咱们放眼当时，学好文化常识，进步归纳本质，将担任处处执行于行，做一个有职责，勇担任的人。
Remember the words of former US President Abraham Lincoln, "everyone should have the confidence that I can bear the responsibility of man. In this way, you can hone yourself and get wider perspective into a higher realm. Let us always bear our responsibility in mind. No grandiloquence, without impressive feats, we only need to look at present, to learn cultural knowledge and science, to improve our overall quality, to perform the responsibility anywhere, and be responsible anytime.
